The results of the study of the spatial differentiation of forest cover from qualitative methods of analysis of the field, remote sensing and map data. The coenotic diversity of forest vegetation were studied with different classification approaches, as follows: ecological dominant, ecological topological, and dynamical. Interpolation of local measurements of plant associations and syntaxonomic units at the upper scale levels with spectral satellite imagery and quantitative methods of its processing allowed preserving important information on the structure and properties of vegetation. The thematic maps of specific parameters of the forest cover, as well as the vegetation map of Central Murmansk Region at the 1:100000 scale are the main results of the study. The impact of the natural and anthropogenic factors is reflected in the legend to the map.
